The efforts of STAY MWV began in 2016, and is a hybrid of a young professional network AND a non-profit with a mission is to support the vibrant population of young folks making a life in the MWV.
Part of that mission is raising funds for its Student Loan Assistance Program. This program assists valley residents who are being choked by student loans, by helping to pay them back. By helping to alleviate this financial burden, Stay MWV hopes it allows breathing room for its scholarship recipients to have better funding available to buy a home, invest in a business or provide a more comfortable life in the Mt. Washington Valley. The ripple effect of young professionals being able to do these things without the financial barrier of student debt, makes for a stronger community, with deeper roots. Stay MWV wants young professionals to feel confident about moving to Mt. Washington Valley, and their ability to build a life here.
To date, Stay MWV has raised over $65,000 in student loan repayment funds. In 2021, STAY MWV hopes to raise and disperse $20,000 in student loan assistance.
Stay MWV also plans annual gatherings throughout the year to bring young professionals together to network, and collaborate.
